cruciate
Shaped like cross
Cruciate means cross-shaped or arranged like a cross.
The term appears almost exclusively in anatomy, where the cruciate ligaments are two ligaments in the knee that cross each other, connecting the thighbone to the shinbone: She tore her anterior cruciate ligament playing soccer.
Athletes and sports commentators often shorten this to ACL.
