creasing

Forming fold lines

Creasing is the formation of creases—lines or ridges made by folding or pressing.

It describes both the action and its result: The creasing of the paper was deliberate, years of creasing had softened the leather.

In British slang, creasing means laughing uncontrollably: We were absolutely creasing at his story.
