fold line
Where paper bends
A fold line is a marked or implied line indicating where paper, fabric, or other material should be creased.
In sewing patterns, the fold line shows where fabric should be placed against a fold to cut symmetrical pieces: Place the pattern piece on the fold line.
In origami and paper crafts, fold lines guide where to crease.
The term also appears in technical drawings and packaging design.
