count-off
Pre-song tempo check
A count-off is the numbered sequence spoken or shouted before a group action begins, establishing tempo and synchronizing the start: The drummer gave a count-off and the band launched into the song.
In military or exercise contexts, it's the sequential numbering as each person calls out: Sound off for a count-off!
