coachhouse

Estate vehicle building

A coachhouse is a building for storing horse-drawn carriages, typically part of a larger estate.

Most surviving coachhouses have been converted to residences or garages.

The term now often describes a small secondary dwelling on a property, whether or not it ever housed coaches: They renovated the old coachhouse into a guest cottage.
