city districts
Municipal administrative divisions
City districts are administrative or geographic subdivisions within a city, each typically having distinct boundaries and sometimes its own governance or character.
Districts may be defined officially for purposes like voting, policing, or zoning, or informally by neighborhood identity: the arts district, the financial district, a historic district.
Some cities number their districts; others name them.
