cinematographs
Early movie projectors
Cinematographs are early motion picture devices that could record, develop, and project film—the precursors to modern movie cameras and projectors.
The term also referred to the theaters where films were shown: The cinematograph on High Street was packed every Saturday.
Now largely historical, replaced by more specific terms like camera and projector.
