brick facade
Building's brick skin
A brick facade is the exterior face of a building made of brick, or more often, a thin layer of brick applied over another material to give the appearance of solid brick construction.
The term extends figuratively to any outward appearance that conceals what's underneath: His confidence was just a brick facade hiding deep insecurity.
