bowled

Sent pins flying

Bowled is the past tense of bowl.

In cricket, the bowler bowled the ball when delivering it toward the batsman; a batsman who is bowled has been dismissed by a ball that hits the wicket.

In lawn bowling or ten-pin bowling, you bowled when you rolled the ball.

To be bowled over is to be knocked down or, figuratively, to be astonished or deeply impressed: I was bowled over by her generosity.
