bond issue
Government debt instrument
A bond issue is a set of bonds offered for sale at the same time by a government or corporation to raise capital.
The term refers both to the act of issuing the bonds and to the bonds themselves as a group: The city approved a $50 million bond issue for school construction.
Voters often decide whether to authorize municipal bond issues through ballot measures.
