boat lifts
Watercraft raising mechanisms
Boat lifts are mechanical devices that raise watercraft out of the water for storage, protecting hulls from algae, corrosion, and wave damage.
Most are installed at private docks, lifting boats clear of the water when not in use: We put the boat on the lift at the end of summer.
Larger-scale boat lifts function as alternatives to locks, physically hoisting vessels between bodies of water at different elevations.
