conveyors

Factory transport belts

Conveyors are mechanical systems that move materials from one place to another, typically consisting of belts, rollers, or chains that transport items along a fixed path.

They're ubiquitous in factories, warehouses, airports, and grocery checkout lines: Packages traveled along the conveyor to the loading dock.

More broadly, a conveyor is anything that transmits or carries: a conveyor of information, a conveyor of disease.
