blueblooded
Of royal lineage
Blueblooded means of noble or aristocratic birth.
The term comes from the visible blue veins in pale-skinned European aristocrats, who unlike peasants didn't labor in the sun.
Now used for anyone from an elite or privileged background: a blueblooded Boston family, blueblooded investors.
Often carries a whiff of snobbery or inherited advantage.
