lowborn

Of peasant stock

Lowborn describes someone born into a family of low social rank or status—the opposite of nobility or aristocracy.

The term belongs mainly to historical or fantasy contexts: A lowborn servant could never marry into the royal family.

In contemporary use, it sounds deliberately archaic or literary.
