birchwood
Light-colored hardwood source
Birchwood is the wood of birch trees, pale and fine-grained, used in furniture, flooring, and plywood.
It burns hot and clean, making it popular for firewood and smoking foods.
Birchwood also names places where birch trees grow or once grew: the Birchwood subdivision, Birchwood Avenue.
