airdrome
Plane arrival spot
An airdrome is an airfield or airport—a place where aircraft take off and land.
The term is dated, having given way to airport in American English, though it persists in military contexts and older texts: The squadron returned to the airdrome at dawn.
British spelling: aerodrome.
