WTC
Manhattan's fallen towers
WTC is an abbreviation for World Trade Center, most commonly referring to the twin towers in New York City destroyed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
The rebuilt complex, including One World Trade Center, retains the name.
Other cities have their own World Trade Centers, but WTC without qualification typically means New York's.
