Capitol Building
Legislature's domed headquarters
The Capitol Building is the seat of the United States Congress in Washington, D.C., where the Senate and House of Representatives meet.
The domed neoclassical structure sits on Capitol Hill and serves as both a working legislature and national symbol.
State legislatures also meet in buildings called capitols, though "Capitol Building" usually refers to the federal one.
Protesters gathered outside the Capitol Building.
