Vichy

Collaborationist French capital

Vichy is a town in central France, notorious as the seat of the collaborationist French government during World War II (1940–1944).

The Vichy regime cooperated with Nazi Germany, and the name now evokes collaboration with an occupying enemy: a Vichy government, Vichy Republicans.

Vichy water is mineral water from springs near the town, and vichyssoise is a cold potato-leek soup associated with French cuisine.
