shoebill stork
Clog-faced marsh bird
A shoebill stork is a large African wading bird with a massive shoe-shaped bill, standing up to five feet tall.
Found in swamps and marshes of central and east Africa, it's known for its statue-like stillness while hunting fish.
Despite the name, it's more closely related to pelicans than true storks.
Also called simply shoebill.
