The Mummy
Bandaged ancient body
The Mummy is a 1999 adventure film that launched a franchise of sequels, spinoffs, and video games, blending horror with action-comedy in the style of Indiana Jones.
The title also refers to the 1932 Boris Karloff horror classic it loosely remakes, and to a 2017 reboot starring Tom Cruise.
More broadly, any film featuring a resurrected mummified corpse as antagonist may be called a mummy movie.
