The Big Short

Subprime mortgage chronicle

*The Big Short* is a 2010 book by Michael Lewis, adapted into a 2015 film, about the investors who predicted and profited from the 2008 housing market collapse.

The title refers to their financial position—"shorting" the mortgage bond market by betting it would fail.

The phrase has come to represent seeing through collective delusion to an obvious but ignored truth: He called the AI bubble early—his own big short.
