Tennessee whiskey
Charcoal-filtered American liquor
Tennessee whiskey is American whiskey produced in Tennessee, distinguished from bourbon mainly by an extra filtering step through sugar maple charcoal before aging.
This "Lincoln County Process" gives it a smoother, slightly sweeter character.
Jack Daniel's is the most famous example: He ordered a Tennessee whiskey on the rocks.
