Chattanooga
Tennessee River city
Chattanooga is a city in southeastern Tennessee, situated along the Tennessee River near the Georgia border.
Once an industrial center known for iron and textile manufacturing, it has reinvented itself around tourism, technology, and outdoor recreation.
The name comes from a Creek word, possibly meaning "rock coming to a point"—a reference to nearby Lookout Mountain.
We drove through Chattanooga on our way to Atlanta.
