Pipe joint wrap
Teflon tape is thin white tape made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), wrapped around pipe threads to create watertight seals in plumbing connections.
The tape fills tiny gaps between threaded fittings, preventing leaks: I wrapped the showerhead threads with Teflon tape before screwing it on.
Also called plumber's tape or thread seal tape.
