Stukas

Screaming German bombers

Stukas were German dive bombers used extensively in World War II, particularly in the early blitzkrieg campaigns.

The Junkers Ju 87 Stuka became infamous for its terrifying siren, called the "Jericho trumpet," which screamed during dives to demoralize targets below.

The name comes from the German *Sturzkampfflugzeug* (dive-bombing aircraft).

The Stukas hit the convoy at dawn.
