Spitfires

Battle of Britain

Spitfire has two main meanings united by intensity.

A spitfire is a person with a fiery temper—someone quick to anger or sharp of tongue: She was a little spitfire who wouldn't back down from anyone.

The Spitfire was also the iconic British single-seat fighter aircraft of World War II, renowned for its role in the Battle of Britain.
