combined arms
Integrated military tactics
Combined arms is a military doctrine in which different combat branches—infantry, armor, artillery, aircraft—coordinate as a unified force.
The idea is that each element covers the weaknesses of the others: tanks provide firepower but need infantry to clear buildings; infantry needs artillery support to advance.
The assault succeeded through combined arms tactics.
