Socialism
Workers control production
Socialism is an economic and political system in which the means of production—factories, land, resources—are owned or regulated collectively rather than by private individuals.
In practice, this usually means state ownership or control of major industries.
The term covers a wide spectrum, from democratic socialism with robust welfare states to authoritarian command economies.
In American political discourse, socialism is often used loosely as a pejorative for any government intervention: They call universal healthcare socialism.
