pensions
Post-career monthly checks
Pensions are regular payments made to someone who has retired from work, typically funded by contributions during their working years.
A pension may come from a former employer, the government, or a private plan.
The verb pension appears mainly in pension off—to retire someone with a pension, or more broadly, to dismiss as no longer useful: They pensioned off the old equipment.
