Skyr
Nordic cultured dairy
Skyr is a thick, creamy Icelandic dairy product traditionally made from skim milk and bacterial cultures.
Though often shelved with yogurt, skyr is technically a fresh cheese—higher in protein and tangier than most yogurts.
I had skyr with berries for breakfast.
The word is Icelandic and pronounced roughly "skeer."
