Sammy Sosa
Sammy Sosa is a Dominican-American baseball player who became one of the sport's biggest stars during the 1990s home run era.
His 1998 chase with Mark McGwire to break Roger Maris's single-season home run record captivated American sports fans.
Sosa hit 66 home runs that year, finishing second to McGwire's 70.
His career was later shadowed by steroid allegations and a corked-bat incident.
