corked bat
Doctored baseball club
A corked bat is a baseball bat that has been illegally modified by drilling out the core and filling it with cork or other light material.
The tampering reduces weight while maintaining length, theoretically allowing faster swings.
Using a corked bat violates baseball rules and results in ejection: He was suspended after his corked bat shattered, revealing the tampering.
