Pyrex
Heat-resistant kitchen glass
Pyrex is a brand of heat-resistant glassware used in cooking and laboratory settings.
The borosilicate glass withstands rapid temperature changes without shattering, making it standard for baking dishes, measuring cups, and scientific beakers.
The name has become genericized: I need a Pyrex to bake the casserole.
Some newer Pyrex sold in the US uses tempered soda-lime glass, which is less resistant to thermal shock.
