Tupperware

Plastic food storage

Tupperware is the brand name for a line of plastic food storage containers with airtight seals, sold through home demonstration parties that became a cultural phenomenon in mid-twentieth-century America.

The sales model offered economic independence to suburban housewives.

The name has become so generic that any plastic storage container may be called tupperware. (Lowercase tupperware is the generic term.)
