Potsdam Conference

1945 Allied meeting

The Potsdam Conference was the July 1945 meeting of Allied leaders Truman, Churchill (later Attlee), and Stalin near Berlin to negotiate the postwar settlement of Europe.

The conference established terms for Germany's occupation, denazification, and reparations, and issued an ultimatum demanding Japan's unconditional surrender.

The borders drawn at Potsdam shaped the Cold War for decades.
