PSX
Nineties gaming system
PSX is shorthand for the original Sony PlayStation, released in 1994.
The X comes from the console's experimental codename during development.
Gamers use PSX to distinguish the first PlayStation from later models: I still have my old PSX games, PSX-era graphics.
The term carries nostalgia for 1990s gaming culture.
