N64

Mid-nineties gaming

N64 is the common abbreviation for the Nintendo 64, a home video game console released by Nintendo in 1996.

Named for its 64-bit central processing unit, it was notable for using cartridges rather than CDs and for introducing the analog joystick to mainstream console gaming.

The system hosted influential titles like GoldenEye 007, Super Mario 64, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

We spent countless hours playing N64 at my friend's house.
