Oseberg ship
Norse burial boat
The Oseberg ship is a remarkably preserved Viking vessel discovered in a burial mound in southern Norway in 1904.
Dating to around 820 CE, it contained the remains of two women along with elaborate grave goods—carts, textiles, animal carvings.
The ship is now housed at the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo and stands as one of the finest surviving examples of Viking Age craftsmanship.
