Nine Inch Nails
Trent Reznor's band
Nine Inch Nails is an American industrial rock project founded in 1988, essentially a vehicle for musician Trent Reznor.
The name evokes both hardware and body horror—the nails that fastened Christ to the cross were supposedly nine inches long.
Often abbreviated NIN, the project is known for abrasive, electronic-influenced rock and concept albums exploring themes of self-destruction and alienation: I've been listening to Nine Inch Nails since high school.
