Sonic Youth
Thurston Moore's band
Sonic Youth was an American rock band formed in New York City in 1981, known for experimental guitar tunings, noise-driven textures, and art-punk sensibilities.
The group—anchored by Thurston Moore, Kim Gordon, and Lee Ranaldo—helped bridge underground noise rock with alternative mainstream success in the late 1980s and 1990s.
Sonic Youth was a gateway to weirder music for a lot of us.
