Mennonite
Amish theological cousin
Mennonites are members of a Protestant Christian denomination descended from 16th-century Anabaptists in Europe.
Named after Dutch reformer Menno Simons, they emphasize pacifism, adult baptism, and simple living.
Mennonite communities range from conservative groups resembling the Amish—plain dress, limited technology—to mainstream congregations indistinguishable from other Protestants: a Mennonite church, Mennonite relief organizations.
