adult baptism
Grown believer's immersion
Adult baptism is the Christian rite of baptism performed on a person old enough to make a conscious profession of faith, as opposed to infant baptism.
Some denominations, particularly Baptists and Anabaptists, practice only adult baptism, holding that the sacrament requires personal belief and commitment: She underwent adult baptism after her conversion.
