London Calling

Capital city beckons

London Calling is the third studio album by the British punk band the Clash, released in 1979.

Widely considered one of the greatest rock albums ever made, it blends punk with reggae, rockabilly, and jazz.

The title track references the BBC World Service's wartime broadcasts, opening with the iconic line London calling to the faraway towns.

The phrase has become shorthand for urgent communication from Britain.
