Irish nationalism
Hibernian independence movement
Irish nationalism is the political ideology advocating for Irish self-governance, cultural identity, and independence from British rule.
Historically associated with movements for Home Rule, the 1916 Easter Rising, and the eventual establishment of the Irish Free State.
Contemporary Irish nationalism often centers on the reunification of Northern Ireland with the Republic of Ireland: Irish nationalism surged after the Brexit vote.
