George Bernard Shaw
George Bernard Shaw was an Irish playwright and critic, among the most influential dramatists of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
His plays—*Pygmalion*, *Man and Superman*, *Saint Joan*—combined wit with social criticism.
Shaw won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1925.
The name often appears in discussions of theater, socialism, or quotable aphorisms, many misattributed to him.
