Jack London

Jack London was an American author (1876–1916) known for adventure novels and short stories set in the Yukon and at sea. *The Call of the Wild* and *White Fang* remain widely read.

London lived hard—as sailor, oyster pirate, gold prospector—and wrote prolifically about survival, nature, and class struggle before dying at forty.
