E.B. White
Stuart's literary father
E.B.
White was an American writer best known for the children's novels *Charlotte's Web* and *Stuart Little*, and for revising William Strunk Jr.'s *The Elements of Style*, which became the most influential guide to English prose in the twentieth century.
White spent much of his career at *The New Yorker*, where his essays and editorials helped establish the magazine's voice.
His writing exemplifies the clarity and economy his style guide preaches.
