Gothic church
Ribbed vault sanctuary
A Gothic church is a church built in the Gothic architectural style that dominated European cathedral construction from the 12th through 16th centuries.
The style is characterized by pointed arches, ribbed vaults, flying buttresses, and large stained-glass windows that flood interiors with light.
Notre-Dame de Paris and Chartres Cathedral are famous examples.
The tour included several Gothic churches in northern France.
