French and Indian War
Britain versus France
The French and Indian War was the North American theater of the Seven Years' War (1754–1763), fought between Britain and France along with their respective colonial and Native American allies.
The British victory resulted in France ceding its North American territories east of the Mississippi.
The war's costs contributed to colonial taxation disputes that preceded the American Revolution.
